Sludge band from Louisiana known for their misanthropic lyrics and endless troubles with law and drugs. They broke up in 2000, but reformed 5 years later. Lead singer Mike Williams was arrested in 2005, following the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, but with the help of supporters was released in December of that same year.
On August 23, 2013 the band's drummer Joey LaCaze died from respiratory failure, aged 42.

Mike Williams - Vocals
Jimmy Bower - Guitar
Brian Patton - Guitar
Aaron Hill - Drums
Gary Mader - Bass
Hardcore punk band from New York City, NY, USA.

They were among the first bands to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal and were associated with the birth of a tougher attitude within the hardcore scene in the late 1980s. They were also one of the first hardcore punk bands associated with the Hare Krishna movement.

The bass player Harley Flanagan and singer John Joseph were not the best of friends and eventually Joseph would part ways with the band leaving Harley to sing on the following Cro-Mags release.
After The Age of Quarrel, the band released the record, Best Wishes (1989). The record had a more heavy metal-influenced sound which alienated many of their original fans.

The band released another record Alpha Omega (1992), that saw the return of Joseph, and the departure of guitarist and songwriter Parris Mitchell Mayhew, a record that was only embraced by the most devoted of their fanbase, and followed by Near Death Experience (1993).

After suffering from many lineup changes and frequent breakups, the group finally disbanded, seemingly for the last time, after this record. However, in 2000 they released a record again..

With Revenge the Cro-Mags came back to their early hardcore roots with songs that were comparable to their first release plus some songs with a more melodic/punk rock feel. After the release of Revenge the band broke up once again.

In 2008 John Joseph started playing shows, including one at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, using the name Cro-Mags (jam). The band included drummer Mackie Jayson, Craig Setari of Sick of It All on bass, and AJ of Leeway on guitar.

At various times in the 90s and 00s both Harley and John Joseph simultaneously led 2 separate versions of the Cro-Mags with completely different line-ups.

These groups billed themselves as "Cro-Mag Jam", "Cro-Mags-NYC", "Age of Quarrel" or "Cro-Mags" (whether or not the name was owned legally by the certain version of the band in question).
Sometimes only one original member would be present, sometimes two or three, and sometimes even both John Joseph and Harley together.

“Smoke a fat ass blunt, drink until you drowned, go find the nearest church, and burn that fucker down!” – Lyrics from “Lets take this party straight to Hell” by SNAFU
SNAFU (Situation Normal All Fucked Up) is a hard as fuck, in your face, combination of thrash punk and hardcore that’s sure to get you hyped. Never giving less than 110% at every show, SNAFU is known for their intense live performance on stage, and chilled laid back demeanor off stage. Inspired by the depraved modern society that they were born into, their songs are the very definition of “Pissed”. Not being held down by the destructive nature of mankind, SNAFU is still partying and making the best of this hopeless situation.
The band originally formed sometime back in 2004, rocked the local scene for a few years, put out an untitled 6 song EP and then split up. After a two and a half year hiatus and the putrid condition of the world only accelerating, Scott and Steve-E decided enough was enough so they rounded up Mickey on bass and John on drums. For being back on the Detroit scene for just over year now SNAFU has been hitting it harder than ever. They have shared the stage with noted national acts such as: Star Fucking Hipsters, The Casualties, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Common Enemy, Koffin Kats, Authority Zero, Hellmouth and Time Again. SNAFU has recently released EP entitled “Sick as Shit” and is already working on another EP, due to be released this spring.
After completely thrashing out the entire southeastern portion of the mitten this past year SNAFU is ready expand their party across the country. So keep your eyes/ears pealed for a SNAFU show in your town but watch out, they’ll fuck your mom, eat all your pizza, and smoke all your weed. If you ever get the opportunity to party with these dudes don’t pass it up because “aint no party like a SNAFU party cause a SNAFU party don’t stop”.
Child Bite
Child Bite
Child Bite is a Detroit-based punk/metal/noise rock band formed in 2005. Currently signed to Phil Anselmo's Housecore Records as well as Indianapolis-based Joyful Noise Recordings, their music consists of atonal guitar melodies, distorted bass, frequent rhythmic shifts, and frenzied, howling vocals. Their most easily identifiable influences include '80s hardcore (Black Flag, Dead Kennedys) and '90s alternative (The Jesus Lizard, Faith No More).

Their sound has been described as "enormous and predatory, from the baleful rhythm section to Shawn Knight's [frightening vocals]" (Fine Print Mag, 2013). They are acknowledged by authorities in the genre as having a "horrorshow/slasher-flick" flair, which descriptors apply to their records, their album art and their music videos. Their visual aesthetic is directed by their vocalist, Shawn Knight, who works professionally as a graphic artist.

Child Bite has over a dozen releases of varying lengths, including a triple split 7" w/ David Yow & Thurston Moore, as well as a 5" EP of Anal Cunt songs featuring Phil Anselmo on vocals. Their latest record, a gatefold double 45 RPM EP titled "Strange Waste," has received support from almost every notable metal publication (Decibel, Metal Hammer, Revolver, Invisible Oranges, etc). The music video for single "Ancestral Ooze" was directed by ex-Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Jeff Tuttle and features a cameo by Buzz Osbourne (the Melvins).
